Question

What considerations does Phonak make when designing a study or making bench measurements?

Answer

We aim to make our study design and measurement methods as realistic as possible. That was our focus for the launch of Phonak Audéo Infinio and Infinio Sphere.

We used realistic background noise scenes and a 12-loud speaker array to surround the hearing aids. This approach ensures our performance metrics reflect real-world scenarios better than static noise sources or limited loudspeaker setups.

Clinical studies in both lab and real-world environments confirmed that patients benefited from the technical performance observed in our tests.

Troubleshooting can be difficult from a technical perspective and often becomes more difficult when considering the human factors of both wearers, like ambiguous descriptions from non-technical people, and hearing health care professionals, whose skill may vary based on knowledge and experience. This course seeks to demystify troubleshooting by providing an overview of current technology, a systematic review of each component and a disciplined approach for cross checking the technology.
