Course Abstract

An Oticon-initiated multi-national survey of 750 potential first time users provided insight to the way potential users seek out information. This material provides insight into how a consumer awareness/motivation campaign can be designed to move as many patients as possible to the point of seeking out hearing care. The nature of the approach used will be discussed.

Sheena D. Oliver, AuD, MBA - Vice President, Marketing, Oticon, Inc.
Sheena D. Oliver, Vice President, Marketing for Oticon, Inc. is responsible for Oticon’s overall marketing strategy, overseeing the company’s marketing, advertising and public relations initiatives across all product lines. As an audiologist, Sheena has a unique understanding of the day-to-day needs of hearing care professionals.  She provides a positive environment that encourages communication and critical information sharing and results in innovative approaches that better address the needs of our business partners. Previously, as manager of Oticon Pediatrics, Sheena helped to establish Oticon Pediatrics as a distinct brand and a valuable single source for optimal solutions for children with hearing loss. An alumna of the University of Pittsburgh, she earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Salus University and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Temple University.

Clinical Channel Manager

Mary Porath is Channel Marketing Manager for Oticon, Inc., responsible for developing marketing programs and services for medical/clinical practices in the US market.  Dr. Porath has extensive international experience in program development and product management in the hearing care industry. She was a clinical audiologist at University Hospitals of Cleveland and served as Senior Lecturer at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine for over 15 years. Her presentations and publications include a historical chapter on the History of Hearing Aids, as well as her research teams’ work on the SIMEHD implantable device. Dr. Porath is a consultant to a charitable diagnostic and dispensing service in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras, which helped to progress to a financially self-sustaining service.

David M. Roback, M.Ed. – Director of Strategic Marketing, Oticon, Inc., is responsible for strategic planning and execution, channel management, and developing innovative programs and tools that support our customers.  This requires understanding customer needs to ensure benefit driven support.  David has extensive marketing experience in the hearing healthcare industry, including business to business and consumer marketing, branding, and international product launches.  He received his BA from Carleton College and M.Ed from Vanderbilt University
