Senior Regional Trainer
Sarah Carls, Au.D., CCC-A, is Unitron’s Senior Regional Trainer for the Midwest United States. Sarah received her Doctorate of Audiology from Washington University School of Medicine. Her clinical experience includes diagnosing hearing disorders and fitting hearing aids. Having spent the past few years working with physicians, audiologist, and other medical professionals, she values the importance of quality patient care. It is her personal and professional goal to provide the best knowledge and tools to achieve optimal success for customers and their patients.
Josie Helmbrecht, AuD
Technical Support Audiologist
Josie Helmbrecht, Au.D. works in Audiology & Technical Support at Unitron focusing on the Customer Experience. She earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University in 1995 and a Doctor of Audiology degree from Central Michigan University in 2000. She spent the first seven years of her audiology career at the University of Minnesota Hospital working with pediatric and adult hearing aid and cochlear implant patients, in addition to diagnostics. Since she has worked in a rural private practice, worked as a project manager for a VA Innovations Project, and purchased a small private practice in 2012. Josie is active in the Minnesota Academy of Audiology where she currently chairs the Governmental Relations Committee and served as President in 2005. She was honored to participate in the inaugural Future Leaders of Audiology Conference in 2008 and was awarded the Active Advocate of the Year in 2011. Josie also represents audiology on the Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Advisory Council for the Minnesota Department of Health. In October 2015 Josie went to Haiti Deaf Academy as member of a Hear the World Mission.
Wendy Switalski, MBA, AuD,
Audiology Development Manager
Wendy Switalski, Au.D. is the Audiology Development Manager at Audiology Systems Inc. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Switalski was the president of Audiometric Consultants Inc., an instrumentation distribution company, and a consultant to Otometrics, a leading manufacturer of hearing and balance equipment. Additionally, she has a private audiology practice in metro-Detroit serving both adult and pediatric populations;and also serves as audiologist for the South Pacific territory of American Samoa. Dr. Switalski has previously served on the boards of the Michigan Academy of Audiology and the Rotary Club of Waterford and currently serves on the Advisory Board of Global ENT Outreach. She holds a Master’s degree in audiology from the University of Northern Colorado, an M.B.A. from Saginaw Valley State University, and an Au.D. from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry School of Audiology Wendy Switalski is the Audiology Development Manager at Audiology Systems Inc., an exclusive distributor of Otometrics products.
