How Does AURICAL Support Tinnitus Assessment and Management?

Question

I'm thinking about adding tinnitus management services to my practice. How does AURICAL support tinnitus assessment and management?

Answer

With AURICAL, the tinnitus measurement data created using the tinnitus module in MADSEN® Astera2 can be viewed in the PMM module via the OTOsuite software. The tinnitus markers are available in both Real Ear and Coupler modes. This makes it easier to apply tinnitus measurement data in the fitting and verification process, resulting in a precise fitting of the hearing instrument and/or sound therapy device.

MADSEN Astera2 is the only clinical audiometer with a dedicated tinnitus evaluation module and tinnitus-specific questionnaires and psychoacoustic tests built in, and these enhancements now carry that valuable information through to the fitting process.

You may find the following information helpful as you prepare to offer tinnitus services: our AudiologyOnline interview on tinnitus assessment and management, as well as our CEU webinar on tinnitus assessment.  Thank you for your question and wishing you all the best with this important and growing area of patient care.  For more information about AURICAL, please visit www.audiologysystems.com or the Otometrics / Audiology Systems Expo Page on AudiologyOnline.

There are so many components to quality patient care that it is challenging to “master” them all. There are a number of veteran audiologists as well as rising professionals who have wisdom, qualifications, narratives, and unique journeys to share.
