Vanessa is an audiologist at RIT/NTID, where she has worked full time for two years providing audiology services in spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL). Vanessa’s unique background includes an ASL interpreting degree obtained from Columbus State Community College in 2017 and experience as a professional interpreter for 5 years. Her personal expertise has given her the tools to provide an inside perspective from both points of view: the interpreter and the audiologist. Her goal is to provide culturally competent accessible care to the deaf, Deaf, Hard of Hearing community that thrives in Rochester and to share tools with other healthcare providers to do the same in their communities.
