The definitions of the terms did not clarify how they were different from one another enough to warrant using the extra term. Several terms I believe are synonyms and do not provide any clarity by their addition to the dialogue

Since I never received any training on this subject during my Masters and Au.D. matriculation this was very helpful! I was "thrown to the wolves" in Nome, AK when I served Inupiaq Eskimos, Siberian Yupik, Central Yupik, Athabaskan, Tlinkit and Simshian Native Peoples. I learned everything the hard way! Thanks!

As a person with a psych undergraduate degree, I was reminded of things I have forgotten. As a clinician in a really busy officewith many Hispanic patients, this was a great reminder of what to do (and not do) We have several young Hispanic girls who work in our office that I have gotten to help with hearing test instructions and once fitting a hearing aid to a non-English speaker. Their demeanor was very respectful andmade for effective communication. Also, our doctor speaks Spanish and this is most helpful since he is sensitive to cultural needs (especially of the elderly) Good course and i will review it often to make sure I remember the details!

I realize I do not have a wealth of knowledge on different cultures than my own. However, even in a culture similar to my own, each family has its own set of values and way of perceiving information. I try to be respectful and patient with each family I see and listen to their concerns.

The course was thick with content. It felt like it should have actually been worth more CEUs based on how different the subject and terminology was compared to hearing aids and TBI and other topics we typically come across. (I have to admit - I wasn't a fan of question two in the test, it was pretty much only one word away from being a completely different answer - I almost didn't grade the course as excellent because of that, but the information was important enough to override that minor irritation :).
