Director of the Children’s Hearing Program
Chrisanda Sanchez, Au.D. is the Director of the Children’s Hearing Program at the University of Miami Ear Institute and an Associate Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology and Pediatrics. She is a pediatric audiologist with nationally recognized expertise in the diagnosis and management of pediatric hearing loss across the continuum of care, from early identification through advanced management of hearing loss for medically complex pediatric cases.
Dr. Sanchez provides strategic leadership for a large interdisciplinary clinical and academic program serving a diverse pediatric population across South Florida. Her scholarly work focuses on pediatric cochlear implantation, bone conduction devices, and outcomes-driven models of care, with a particular emphasis on improving diagnostic accuracy, intervention outcomes, and access to care for children from Spanish-speaking and bilingual homes.
In addition to her clinical and research leadership, Dr. Sanchez serves as the Audiology PI for the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program at the Mailman Center for Child Development, where she mentors trainees in interdisciplinary, family-centered pediatric care. Her career reflects a sustained commitment to academic excellence, provider collaboration, and equitable access to high-quality hearing healthcare for all children.
