This course will begin with a discussion on the fundamental purpose and importance of real ear measurement and investigate techniques to encourage efficient clinical utility. Then we will review device selection and fitting based upon output specifics, acoustic coupling, occlusion and feedback management as all of these factors have a significant impact on real ear measurement. Next, troubleshooting techniques will be organized and presented by low, mid and high frequency regions that can be applied when targets are not met in each region. Finally, the course will conclude with strategies for clinical decision making and the development of counseling narratives based upon real ear results.
