Carolyn Smaka, AuD
As Editor-in-Chief, Carolyn is responsible for leading editorial content development. She has worked in a variety of settings as a clinical audiologist, audiology administrator and in several roles with a leading hearing instrument manufacturer. She is an active volunteer with audiology professional associations as well as in her community.

Joanne Slater, AuD

Prior to joining AudiologyOnline, Joanne worked as a clinical audiologist in a variety of settings offering diagnostic and rehabilitative services. She has been an audiologist for over 25 years, and earned her Au.D. in 2010 from AT Still University.

Curtis comes to AudiologyOnline as a former corporate partner. His first hand knowledge of the impact AO has on clinicians and ultimately their patients gives him exceptional insight into best practices for moving the brand forward. Prior to joining AudiologyOnline, Curtis served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Neuromonics, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of products treating tinnitus. A graduate of Tulane University, Curtis holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Management and has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare field.

Anna earned a Master’s degree in Audiology from Rush University in Chicago, IL. Prior to joining AudiologyOnline, she worked as a clinical audiologist and spent many years performing intra-operative monitoring, and was also a technical support audiologist with a leading manufacturer.

Melissa brings more than 12 years of hearing industry experience to her role as Continuing Education Manager. Prior to joining AudiologyOnline, Melissa served as eMarketing Manager with Oticon. She earned a BS degree from Allentown College and completed graduate coursework in neuropsychology at Hunter College of the City University of N.Y.

Tony has over 20 years of diverse marketing experience. In his previous senior roles at Vonage, Nutrisystem, Gate Gourmet and AT&T Wireless / SunCom Wireless, Tony was instrumental in building emotional brand engagement, creating customer-centric marketing campaigns, overseeing lifecycle management, and leading communications and product development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Bates College, and a Master of Business Administration in finance from American University.

Gus Mueller, PhD
As a Contributing Editor, Dr. Mueller's role includes providing editorial advisement, as well as managing a popular monthly feature, 20Q with Gus Mueller, that examines the latest topics in audiology and hearing science with other leading experts in the field. He is Professor of Hearing and Speech Science at Vanderbilt University, and senior audiology consultant for Siemens Hearing Instruments. Dr. Mueller is an internationally known workshop lecturer and noted author, particularly in the area of hearing instrument technology and best practices for achieving successful outcomes with amplification.

Andi Seibold, AuD
Andi is a technical copyeditor for articles, interviews and text courses, and assists in the development of content. She has been an audiologist since 2008, and currently owns her own business providing in-home newborn hearing screenings and pediatric hearing tests in Keller, Texas. She earned her AuD from the University of North Texas.

Leigha Jansen, EdD, CCC-A

As an audiologist for nearly 20 years, Dr. Jansen has had the privilege of working in many different environments. From clinical settings to industry, she has always found a way to fuel her passion for education. Dr. Jansen is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University's Abraham S. Fischler School of Education, as well as a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Master of Arts degree in Audiology. Dr. Jansen’s research interests include simulation-based education and instructional design practices for the adult learner.

Suzanne has been a medical transcriptionist/quality assurance specialist for over 13 years. After graduating from Vance-Granville Community College with an A.A.S. in Medical Office Technology, she’s held a variety of administrative positions. She also taught medical college terminology courses for several years.

Prior to joining AudiologyOnline, Lucas was a partner in a video production company that worked with clients such as Degussa and The Center for Creative Leadership. He has more than six years of video production experience and has worked as a producer on two feature films.

Kelly O'Keefe is the Director of AudiologyDesign, the industry leader in website development, providing customized web solutions for audiology and hearing aid practices in North America. Prior to joining AudiologyOnline, Kelly worked for a major hearing aid manufacturer for five years in sales and business development. He has a degree in Business Administration from Marquette University.

Her research focuses on integrating simulation technology into the field of speech-language pathology by providing clients and professionals with cutting edge media applications.

As Chief Web Officer, Paul is responsible for the company's Web presence including site design, usability, site upgrades, workflow, information data/architecture, analytics, intranet, social media, and security. Working at AudiologyOnline enables him to combine his two professional interests - audiology and the Internet - to ensure the site is the best it can be. He earned his Ph.D. in audiology from the University of Texas at Dallas/Callier Center for Communication Disorders.
