This course reviews the principles of infection control, as outlined by OSHA and the CDC, and explains how those principles apply to the practice of audiology and hearing aid dispensing. Topics of discussion include types of infectious microorganisms and the diseases they cause, Universal and Standard Precautions, Spaulding Classification, and the necessary components of an infection control plan.

Eileen Puterski, M.S., CCC-A, FAAA is the Systems Support Audiologist for All American Hearing. She provides training, marketing support, and clinical support to the companys audiologists and hearing instrument specialists throughout the western US. Ms. Puterski received her BA in Speech from the University of Connecticut in 1974, and her MS in Communicative Disorders from the University of New Mexico in 1975. She practiced audiology and hearing aid dispensing in hospitals, ENT offices, and a community speech and hearing center before opening and operating her own practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. She joined All American Hearing in 2010.
