Popular FittingNOW! series recognized for 0.4 CEUs and available in key cities across the country empowers hearing care professionals to make smarter fitting choices for their patients.

Schaumburg, IL - July 2014 Audiology Systems, a full-service, U.S. distributor of GN Otometrics solutions such as AURICAL®, MADSEN® and ICS®, as well as other leading audiology and vestibular equipment, announces the 2014 course schedule for its popular FittingNOW! series. The course is available to physicians and hearing professionals in Houston, Texas on July 29; and Irving, Texas on July 31. Additional courses will be held in Portland, Oregon in September; Emeryville, Sacramento and La Jolla, California and Minneapolis, Minnesota in October. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Patient being fitted with hearing instrument

First launched in 2012, the FittingNOW! course provides clinicians with the latest tools and techniques to apply when fitting amplification. “This is the third year we are offering FittingNOW! and we are bringing it back by popular demand. It’s popular because the practical aspect of the course makes it easier for clinicians to learn how to make the right choices about the protocol to use for assessments, fittings, and follow-up when assisting patients in selecting a hearing aid. We explore the impact these choices have in potential patient outcomes and the time and ease of implementing them,” said Kathleen Hill, Au.D., Audiology Education Manager at Otometrics.  “Participants get solid, hands-on training and gain real skills that they are able to implement as soon as they get back to the clinic. We are thrilled to be able to offer this course yet again to our customers and give them access to the best in fitting solutions, protocols, and techniques.”

This year the course participants receive an introduction to OnTargetTM, a new AURICAL precision fitting tool, and HI TransitionTM, a procedure that makes it easier to move patients forward with evolving amplification systems. Course facilitators will also discuss techniques for harnessing the power of 2.4GHz technology and wireless accessories, and demonstrate the role and impact of sound quality.

The FittingNOW! 2014 series is recognized for 4 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) by the American Academy of Audiology and presented in conjunction with industry leaders, GN Otometrics and ReSound.
