Coach Don Shula Lends an Ear (or Two) to HearUSA: Shula Signs on With HearUSA for Two-Year Endorsement Deal

Share:
West Palm Beach, Florida, March 16, 2007 -- What do the winningest coach in NFL history and HearUSA have in common? The pursuit of perfection.

Coach Don Shula has signed a two-year relationship deal with HearUSA (doing business as HEARx in
Florida). The scope of the engagement will include a hearing test for Coach Shula and potentially a fitting for a hearing device. The partnership is part of HearUSA's continuing effort to raise awareness of the importance of hearing health, and to distinguish their centers as the preferred medical resource for hearing care.

When Coach Shula met with HearUSA executives - and saw the technology available for people with hearing loss - he decided he was finally ready to take control of his hearing health, and educate others along the way. The relationship will include public service announcements on television that create awareness for those suffering from hearing loss. A direct mail program will also be part of the campaign to drive people to HearUSA's centers. Coach Shula will also make several appearances on behalf of HearUSA.

"HearUSA is honored that Coach Shula has chosen to partner with us in our continuing effort to improve the quality of life of the hearing impaired," says Steve Hansbrough, President and CEO of HearUSA.

Approximately 32 million people in the U.S. are hearing impaired, but only 7.4 million people currently use a hearing device. HearUSA's centers offer a complete range of quality hearing aids, with emphasis on the latest digital technology. The majority of hearing aids sold by the centers are manufactured by Siemens Hearing Instruments, Inc. and its subsidiaries as part of a long-term partnership.
