Fabry Files: Dave Fabry Psyche Crushed During NFC Championship Game - Who Froze my Cheese?

Share:

January 20th, 2008 - It was the NFC Championship, Green Bay Packers versus the New York Football Giants. The Green Bay Packers, with all of their history and glory, and of course Brett Favre as their quarterback - how could they lose? And then you have the NY Giants, the team no one paid attention to this season - barely made it in as a Wild Card seat.

The Giants made it all the way to the NFC Championship game with 9 straight road wins, but still they are playing Green Bay, in Green Bay, Wisconsin in what was one of the coldest games ever played - who would you have chosen? The legendary Brett Favre, who is used to this weather, or the unstoppable road team the Giants and Eli Manning?

Well, some of us here at Audiology Online starting getting a little riled up over who would win this game. First, you have Associate Editor, Dave Fabry, a die-hard Green Bay fan. He was convinced that Green Bay would take it all the way to the Super Bowl. He even went so far as to seek out a Giants fan to make a little wager on the game. Melissa Freund, e-Learning Manager and a life long Giants fan, was willing to take Dave on. There were bragging rights to bet - so the wager was this. Who wouldn't like to boast all week that their team is the better of the two?

So, the bet became that whichever team lost, the fan of the losing team would need to include on all of their electronic correspondence (email) a picture of the winning's team helmet and a statement that that team was the best and deserved to go all the way to play in the Super Bowl.

In a stunning upset that left Packer fans everywhere (including Fabry) numb from disappointment, Eli Manning and the NY Football Giants beat Favre and the Packers on their home tundra in overtime (23-20). Melissa Freund, demonstrating her keen insights, intelligence and superior football mind to Dave Fabry, knew all along that the freezing point of cheese was 0 degrees Fahrenheit, while Giants are much better prepared for the elements.

This week, the week of January 20th, be on the lookout for any emails coming from Dave Fabry proclaiming the greatness of the New York Giants. In two weeks, we will learn whether Giants melt or boil in the Arizona heat, but yesterday we learned that Eli> Brett and Melissa> Dave.
