GN Otometrics is offering the following VNG/ENG courses in the US in 2007
May 3, 4 & 5
October 11, 12 & 13

All courses will be held in Chicago. Please refer to the brochure below for the exact location.
Course description:

Day 1: This course is for healthcare professional who have had little prior VNG/ENG experience or those who desire to review and improve existing knowledge. Registrants should have studied Introduction to ENG (a primer supplied prior to the course) and observed or performed at least a few VNG/ENG tests with an experienced clinician. The course starts at a basic level covering information necessary to make the test administration an effective part of the diagnostic process. We proceed to more advanced topics as each step in the administration of the test is discussed in detail, including instructions to the patient, effect of medications on test results, and pitfalls commonly encountered.

Day 2: This course is for physicians, audiologists and other healthcare professionals who are already familiar with VNG/ENG testing and wish to learn how to interpret abnormal findings. Anatomy and physiology are presented in order to explain abnormalities. Each test is discussed in terms of distinguishing abnormal from norm, inter-relationship between tests, and the implication of abnormalities. Guidelines for report writing are presented and commonly-encountered cases are used to enhance understanding. Prerequisite: Completing the Day 1 course or its equivalent on test administration.

Day 3: This half-day course is for audiologists and other healthcare professionals who are familiar with VNG/ENG testing and wish to gain hands-on experience with administration and interpretation of the test. Participants, in small groups and under supervision, will perform complete VNG/ENG tests, analyze the results, and write reports. The practicum includes practicing office tests and treatment methods such as the head thrust and the canalith repositioning maneuver. Participants will also analyze and report the test findings for selected cases. NOTE: To enhance the educational value of the course, the number of registrants will be limited. If the demand exceeds the available spots, an afternoon session may be added to accommodate those who are unable to register for the morning session.
