December 13, 2007 - The Hear the World magazine wins the European Excellence Award 2007 - this is its third prize this year, having already been awarded the Best of Corporate Publishing Award and the iF communication design award. The magazine is part of the global Hear the World initiative, which raises awareness of hearing and hearing loss. The magazine picked up the coveted award in the "External Publication" category at the ceremony in Berlin on 13th December. The European Excellence Award is amongst the most important prizes in the European PR and communications industry. According to the panel's statement, the magazine uses eye-catching glossy cover designs and extraordinary background reports to create a cultural lifestyle platform that sets itself apart from other corporate publications. In total, the panel had to consider more than 600 entries from all over Europe. Hearing device manufacturer Phonak, who is the initiator of Hear the World, is the only Swiss company to have won the award.

The Hear the World magazine is the first lifestyle magazine on the topic of hearing. Utilizing a culture and lifestyle platform, the Hear the World magazine's features are inspired by a broad range of topics, from music, to art, to nature, and everything else that makes life more beautiful - always linked to the topic of hearing and sound. Stars such as Plácido Domingo, Harry Belafonte, Joss Stone and Moby have been photographed with the hand behind their ear by Bryan Adams, the initiative's official photographer.

The Hear the World magazine is available at selected newsagents and airports as well as on the Hear the World website for subscription in German or English. It addresses a diverse and culturally interested readership and is published quarterly at the price of 6 Euros. The next issue is available in January. Net proceeds of the magazine go to the Hear the World Foundation which supports charitable organizations and projects focused on helping people with hearing loss.
