New President to Lead Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists

Ottawa, ON - The Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
(CASLPA) is pleased to announce the election of Linda Walsh, MHSc, S-LP(C) to the position of president.

Linda, who resides in Moncton, New Brunswick, is a certified speech-language pathologist with a Master's degree from the University of Toronto and has extensive experience in the field of speech-language pathology in home care, hospital and private practice settings. She is currently employed by the South East Regional Health Authority, an organization Maclean's magazine named as one of Canada's top 100 employers.

In addition to participation at the national level, where she has served as CASLPA's New Brunswick representative and on the CASLPA standards advisory, executive and nominations committees, Linda has been actively involved with the New Brunswick Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiolgists (NBASLPA) for many years, holding the positions of president-elect, president, past president, and editor of the provincial newsletter, ECHO. She organized NBASLPA's first annual conference and played a major role in the development of their continuing education program.
Linda is known as someone committed to the issues affecting the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology;someone with the experience to contribute to the goals of the national association;someone who accepts responsibility and fulfills commitments. Linda notes she is "proud to represent CASLPA, a vibrant association that truly represents its members and empowers them in their work with individuals living with communication, swallowing, hearing or balance problems".
