Official Invitation to Audiologists Who Supervise Audiometric Monitoring in Hearing Conservation Programs

Share:

Are you an audiologist who:

  • Reviews audiometric data from hearing conservation programs?
  • Is perplexed by medical-legal issues in hearing conservation programs?
  • Is expanding your audiological services into hearing conservation?
  • Would appreciate certification status as a Professional Supervisor?

The Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) offers you such support in an Independent Satellite Event on "The Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Monitoring Component of Hearing Conservation Programs," to be held April 5, 2006, as part of the American Academy of Audiology's AudiologyNOW! conference in Minneapolis.

Rather than merely scanning problem audiograms from hearing conservation programs, audiologists have extensive responsibilities as "Professional Supervisors" of audiometric monitoring. This course offers a comprehensive tutorial for audiologists wishing to expand their expertise. Presentations will cover:

  • Fulfilling roles and responsibilities of the Professional Supervisor
  • Establishing and supporting audiometric monitoring programs
  • Reviewing problem audiograms
  • Understanding determinations of work-relatedness
  • Managing databases and integrating with other hearing conservation team players
  • Case presentations that illuminate details of regulatory requirements and successful supervision of audiometric monitoring programs
Successful completion of the course and an examination (provided online, after the course) will earn attendees certification as Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Monitoring Component of Hearing Conservation Programs. (Academy CEUs are pending.) This certification, offered for the first time in 2006, will confirm your advanced training in audiometric issues in occupational hearing conservation. For a more complete description and registration, see www.caohc.org/professional_supervisor/course.php

The faculty will include Richard Danielson PhD, Theresa Schulz PhD, and Laurie Wells, MS. In addition to eligibility for certification as a Professional Supervisor, attendees will receive continuing education credits, a copy of the Hearing Conservation Manual 4th Edition, with valuable ANSI and OSHA standards, and unique training materials.
