Siemens Addresses Needs Of Value Concious Patients With Feature-Fitting Solutions At Mid-Range Prices

CIELO from Siemens combines more higher-end features with greater value.

New Jersey, November 3, 2005 - Siemens Hearing Instruments raises the level of performance offered at the lower end of the mid-range category with the introduction of CIELO, a new full-featured, mid-priced family of hearing instruments. Available in a variety of custom and BTE models, including the latest open fit BTE style, CIELO helps Hearing Care Professionals offer patients more high-end features and user comfort at an affordable price.

The amount of flexibility required for patient fitting should be dictated by the patient's audiogram and hearing needs. CIELO instruments offer six frequency shaping and compression channels with adjustable crossover frequencies, enabling precise fitting to the patient's audiogram and dynamic range. The noise reduction system suppresses disruptive sounds, such as traffic or vacuum cleaners, while maintaining the speech signal. Extremely flexible, CIELO is ideal for fitting both typical and unusually shaped audiograms.

Studies show that directional microphones can improve speech understanding amid background noise. With three hearing programs, CIELO features an adaptive directional microphone that can flexibly be configured in multiple programs. All directional models also contain wind noise reduction for outdoor activities. The adaptive directional microphone system is standard on CIELO Dir BTE (Behind-the-Ear) and optional on CIELO ITE (In-the-Ear), HS (Half-Shell) and ITC (In-the-Canal) models.

Because feedback occurrence is often an unpredictable factor when fitting patients, CIELO features the latest in feedback cancellation technology. Using a phase cancellation system, each instrument automatically minimizes or eliminates feedback without any impact on gain.

For individuals with hearing loss, using the telephone while wearing hearing instruments has never been easier or more natural with CIELO's AutoPhone feature. The AutoPhone function, available in select CIELO BTE (Behind-the-Ear) and custom models, allows instruments to automatically move to the telephone program without any manual adjustments from the wearer.

The latest in open fit BTE design, CIELO Life features soft, flexible non-occluding LifeTips that fit comfortably in the ear canal for a virtually invisible appearance. Since CIELO Life does not require a custom made earmold, patients can be tested and fit in one visit. All CIELO instruments come in an array of colors to blend with skin and hair tones. And patients selecting CIELO BTEs can choose from fashionable colors such as silver, black, and translucent fun colors.
