ADA is pleased to announce that the California Academy of Audiology (CAA) has endorsed the Audiology Patient Choice Act, which will streamline access to audiology services for Medicare patients, and bring Medicare in line with today’s best practices in the delivery of hearing and balance health care services.

“We applaud the California Academy of Audiology for its strong endorsement of the Audiology Patient Choice Act,” said ADA President Kim Cavitt, Au.D. “CAA’s support of this landmark legislation will markedly advance efforts to ensure that California legislators are well informed about the merits of the bill and the need for its long overdue changes.”

NIU SAA Becomes First University Chapter to Endorse the Audiology Patient Choice Act

Dekalb, Illinois—The Northern Illinois University (NIU) Chapter of the Student Academy of Audiology became the first university SAA Chapter to endorse the Audiology Patient Choice Act (H.R. 5304), since the bi-partisan bill was introduced in Congress on July 31st by Representatives Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) and Matt Cartwright (D-PA).

“ADA commends NIU audiology students for their support of this landmark legislation,” said ADA President Kim Cavitt, Au.D. “H.R. 5304 will provide enhanced access to safe, efficient audiologic care for Medicare patients, and it will also ensure that audiologists are reimbursed by Medicare in a fashion that reflects best current practices in hearing healthcare delivery, consistent with their licensure and training.”

The Hearing Care Group of Metropolitan New York

New York City—The Hearing Care Group of Metropolitan New York announced its endorsement of H.R. 5304, the Audiology Patient Choice Act, which if enacted will dramatically improve access to audiologic care for older Americans.

“New York audiologists are proven advocates for patient-centered care, professional parity and the autonomous practice of audiology,” said ADA President Elect, Rita Chaiken, Au.D. “The Hearing Care Group’s vocal support of the Audiology Patient Choice Act will ensure that legislators in New York and beyond are well informed about the necessity and urgency of passing this landmark legislation.”
