Walkers from Across the Country will Join the Hearing Loss Association of America and the 2008 Walk4Hearing

Share:
You are invited to participate in the 2008 Walk4Hearing. There are many ways to be involved.

The 2008 Hearing Loss Association of America Walk4Hearing will be in 17 cities nationwide. We expect 4,000 walkers and have a fundraising goal of $650,000. The walk proceeds, which are shared evenly between the national HLAA organization and the local sponsoring HLAA chapter or state organization, go toward programs and services for people with hearing loss and their families.

HLAA launched the Walk4Hearing in 2006 in six cities to:

  • increase awareness among the general public about hearing loss and the 31 million Americans who have hearing loss

  • minimize the stigma associated with wearing hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive technology by educating people about hearing loss

  • raise funds to expand services and programs for people with hearing loss and their families at the national and local levels

  • empower the HLAA state organizations and chapters to organize walks for fundraising and local outreach.
