Cochlear Service Report - January 2024

WSJ Reporter Takes the Consumer's Journey

Share:

In today's Wall Street Journal, reporter Melinda Beck pursued hearing aids for her "mild hearing loss," although she was advised by her hearing care professional that "many people with such mild loss find hearing aids more irritating than helpful." However, with that less than stellar endorsement of hearing help, Beck pursued hearing aids and tells her story, "Getting An Earful."

On balance, the positives she encountered - "discreet, high tech," "I feel more alert than I have in years" - outweighed the expected negatives - background noise, price - and advice from her hearing care professional not to "expect miracles," but not enough to keep it. Not much of a surprise when you read about her journey.
