Question
Are there speech audiometry testing materials available in Mandarin Chinese? I am an audiologist fluent in Mandarin and see many Mandarin-speaking patients in my area.
Answer
Thank you for your question. My colleagues and I have been developing Mandarin speech audiometry testing materials and doing research in this area for more than 10 years. I have included references below for some of our research published in English. We now supply Mandarin monosyllable, spondee, sentence, and ANL test materials to our professional colleagues at no cost. Some of them are available via download. Please contact us if you are interested in obtaining speech audiometry materials in Mandarin.
I have a website (in Chinese) where users can download the software of Chinese Speech Test with an English introduction at no charge: https://www.trhos.com/mstms/
For an excellent review of speech audiometry best practices, we recommend the AudiologyOnline recorded course, Back to Basics: Speech Audiometry by Dr. Janet Schoepflin.
