This course will review current literature assessing the application and benefits of “connected” hearing technologies, as well as their potential to improve accessibility to hearing healthcare.

Infection control has long been considered an important issue in hearing healthcare because of the wide range of patients served and the nature of the services provided. Infection control extends beyond the common sense practices of hand washing and good housekeeping. New harmful microbes arise, old microbes reemerge, and as a profession we must remain vigilant and prepared to protect our patients, our practices, and ourselves from the infectious dangers now and next. This course will discuss the principles of infection control, outline standard precautions, and identify strategies to manage patient contact in times of outbreak for a hearing healthcare practice.

This course will review Widex MOMENT’s Bluetooth and WidexLink features that deliver connectivity options for hearing aid users. After taking this course, participants will be able to describe new pairing steps for Android phones, identify streaming control features in the MOMENT App, and list and describe current DEX Accessory options for all MOMENT users.

2. After this course, participants will be able to describe the new options for pairing MOMENT to Android ASHA protocol products.
