This Grand Rounds features a presentation of two cases to illustrate the assessment and management of patients with auditory processing disorders. Cases include one child and one adult. Following each case presentation, we will discuss information essential for identification, diagnosis, and management of patients with auditory processing disorders.

James W. Hall III, PhD
James W. Hall III, PhD is an internationally recognized audiologist with 40-years of clinical, teaching, research, and administrative experience. During his career, Dr. Hall has held clinical and academic audiology positions at major medical centers and leadership roles in the American Academy of Audiology. He is the author of over 190 peer-reviewed publications, invited articles, book chapters and also 10 textbooks. Dr. Hall now holds academic appointments as Professor (part-time) at Salus University and the University of Hawaii. Dr. Halls clinical areas of expertise include auditory electrophysiology, tinnitus/hyperacusis, and auditory processing disorders.

Ghada Said A. A. Ahmed, is currently a student in the International Doctor of Audiology program at Salus University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Ain Sham University, Cairo Egypt in 1998 and her Master’s degree in audio-vestibular medicine from Ain Shams University in 2007. During her career, Dr. Ahmed has has more than 15 years of experience in providing audiology services in an audio-vestibular clinic in Egypt and, currently, in Dr. Soliman Fakeeh hospital (DSFH) Jeddah Saudi Arabia.
