The Audible Contrast Threshold (ACT) test is the first clinically applicable test that predicts aided speech-in-noise abilities in a fast and language-independent manner and automatically adjusts the hearing aid to optimize individual needs. March 20, 2023 Gregory Scott Gregory Scott, 2022 Oticon Focus on People Awards Winner in Advocacy Category, describes his role as an Advocate for people with hearing loss. Gregory is the founder of SoundPrint, a smartphone app measuring the sound levels of venues. The app has a built-in meter that measures sound levels for at least 15 seconds, recording levels in real time, as well average and maximum decibels. Today, SoundPrint is the leader in crowdsourced auditory information, with more than 180 downloads, helping people find their preferred quiet or noisy spot, whether for a date, business meeting, or dinner with family.Beyond making conversation easier, the database is shared with venue managers, public health researchers and hearing health advocates to let them know people care about noise.
