When a person seeks help for hearing loss, it is common for them to assume their hearing instruments will seamlessly allow them to hear well in any sound environment, especially where they have the most problems – in noise. ReSound realizes this is what users need most, and has made it our primary goal to develop technology that empowers users to navigate easily in ANY sound environment they encounter in their daily lives. This course will review the technology available from ReSound to help users in noise.

This course will introduce recent product enhancements in Audioscan hearing instrument fitting systems. New software tools and clinical techniques supporting accurate and efficient evaluation of hearing instruments will be discussed.

Hearing aid processing of music is much less thoroughly researched than hearing aid processing of speech. This presentation will report on a study using normal-hearing listeners that evaluated the efficacy of programs specifically designed for music listening in state-of-the-art hearing aids. In addition, an analysis of signal processing and acoustic features relating to the results are discussed.
