North Florida Ear, Nose and Throat is seeking a Clinical Audiologist to add to their team of professionals. The practice has been caring for patients on the beautiful Emerald Coast of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. Since 2007. The practice has an outstanding reputation across several counties in the Panhandle region.

The qualified candidate will provide a full range of diagnostic audiological testing, OAEs, HA fittings using best practices, fitting of Osseo-integrated devices, cochlear implant evaluations and programming to patients of all ages and vestibular evaluations on adults.  Will consider experienced audiologists or strong recent graduates.  Responsible for assisting our team which includes 2 audiologists, 2 general ENTs, 1 otologist, 4 nurse practitioners, 5 vestibular rehab physical therapists. This is a very well-rounded opportunity for an Audiologist to be able to utilize their skills in various areas of Audiology and grow!

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services by assessing and treating neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric hearing, balance, and communication disorders. Defines patient hearing impairment and balance disorder by conferring with referring physician; selecting and administering electrophysiological and other relevant tests; operating diagnostic equipment; determining type and degree of hearing impairment and effects on comprehension and speech; interpreting audiometric diagnostic data; preparing written diagnostic reports.
  • Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; participating in research programs; evaluating new equipment, devices, and techniques. 
  • Provides auditory evaluations and education by measuring and studying noise conditions, conducting hearing protection and hearing loss screening programs. Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, and professional standards.
  • Cochlear screening and programming capabilities.
  • Measures and interprets sensory and motor-evoked potentials, electromyography, and other electrodiagnostic tests for purposes of neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring and cranial nerve assessment.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in the use of the Practice Management Systems, Athena Net.
  • Fulfills responsibilities as assigned which may include: sending/receiving patient portal messages; scheduling appointments/tests; verifying insurance coverage; managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately, contacting patients regarding upcoming appointments.
  • Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to the scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Requirements):

  • Adaptable and flexible with a positive attitude!
  • Proficient knowledge of EMR systems and computer knowledge.
  • Ability to counsel patients as well as their family effectively.
  • Knowledge of legal responsibilities relating to HIPPA.
  • Professional appearance, effective communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Willingness and ability to grow and expand your skills/knowledge in an ever-changing field.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Compassion, Empathy and understanding with patients are essential to providing excellent patient care.

Education:

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Audiology
  • Appropriate licensure in the state of Florida

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year’s work experience in an ENT medical office setting preferred.
