We are looking for a full time audiologist to join our team at a busy otology clinic in the Jackson, Mississippi area. We are a practice of two physicians, one nurse practitioner, and five audiologists that cover the full spectrum of ear pathology including hearing and vestibular impairments.

Job Overview: The Audiologist is responsible for administering and interpreting a variety of diagnostic audiological exams, counseling patients, families, and physicians regarding test results, and reviewing options that best meet the patient’s hearing healthcare needs. Performs audiological services in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing disorders for people of all ages. Evaluates, orders, discusses hearing aids and completes hearing aid dispensing. Evaluates, orders, and discusses the need for implantable hearing devices and coordinates patient’s care plan.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Examine patients (adults and pediatrics) who have hearing, balance, or related ear problems
- Preform comprehensive hearing tests and Tympanometry, balance testing (including ABR, EcochG, VEMP, VNG), and Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs)
- Document and add charges into Modernizing Medicine and CounselEar
- Counsel patients on hearing loss
- Cochlear Implant consultation, testing, activation, orientation, adjustments, repairs, and trouble shooting
- BAHA consultation, fittings, orientation, adjustments, repairs, and trouble shooting
- Hearing aid consultation and troubleshooting
- Clean test equipment and work areas
- Answer calls to Audiology and respond to any voicemails
- Schedule patient appointments
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports
- Complete hearing aid repair forms
- Keep necessary supplies stocked in work areas
- Assist the practice with the growth of the Audiology Department by way of community outreach and marketing programs
- Maintain documentation of customer contact and account updates
- Oversee 4th year students on all testing
These duties may change over time.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, AuD, or Ph.D.
- Ability to obtain and retain MS State Licenses
- Ability to interact with patients, despite hearing or speech issues
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position including but not limited to; Balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, stretching, lifting, grasping, standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time
- Must have sufficient vision acuity and hearing with the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make discriminations in sound
- Must have good communication skills with proper speaking etiquette to patients
