Question

How can I find the half octaves in tinnitus matching?

Answer

Half octaves may be accessed on both the GSI AudioStar Pro and the GSI Pello audiometers. When in the tone test type, press the status audiogram button. This will change the format of the display from the traditional graphic audiogram to a numerical table audiogram. A numerical audiogram is necessary to view the non-traditional test frequencies in the soft menu. At the bottom of the display, select fine Hz. A submenu will appear that will display 11 different octave and frequency resolutions that include half octave band, third octave band, etc. You may even select single Hz resolution. Select the octave band of choice and you are ready to test.
