The CI2020 Online conference in partnership with American Cochlear Implant Alliance features renowned researchers, physicians, clinicians and educators presenting high-quality scientific information applicable to all professionals working in the field of cochlear implantation. The conference explores a range of current and emerging topics that significantly impact outcomes for adults and children with cochlear implants and other auditory devices.

CI2020 Online is offered in three sessions. Session 3 consists of five, 1-hour presentations covering the following topics: Cochlear Implantation in Pediatric and Adult Cases of Single-Sided Deafness and Asymmetric Hearing Loss; Challenging Surgical Cases; Cognition and Cochlear Implantation; Bimodal, Bilateral, and Electric-Acoustic Stimulation; Clinical Applications of the AIM System from Advanced Bionics.

The majority of hearing aid users are older adults and, thus, it is incumbent to understand the nature of their perceptual difficulties. In this seminar, the effects of aging in combination with hearing loss on spoken language understanding will be examined.

Update on May 2020 Government Services contract offerings, with a brief review of Opn S, and introduce Oticon CROS and EduMic. This course will also focus on Selective Attention and Oticon’s new EEG research regarding Opn S products.

AutoREM is a programming feature that automatically provides optimized match-to-target settings without the need for manual adjustments. This course describes how to perform a quick match-to-target fitting using VerifitLINK, a proprietary, automated, real-ear measurement interface accessed in Connexx and compatible with the Audioscan Verifit 1 and Verifit 2 systems.

The COVID-19 health crisis has dramatically impacted the hearing healthcare industry’s ability to conduct business as usual. Hearing care professionals, however, are rising to the occasion and finding new and innovative ways to care for patients through curbside service and teleaudiology. At times like this, social isolation can have lasting, damaging effects on hard of hearing people. Hearing, therefore, can become an essential part of staying connected to the outside world. This class will show hearing care professionals how they may continue to provide high quality patient care while practicing social distancing. Participants will learn how to safely and accurately screen for hearing loss and remotely fit hearing devices through in situ audiometry and ReSound Assist Live (Live Assistance).

Patients deserve the best hearing possible and also the best service possible. Starkey’s Hearing Care Anywhere remote programming feature allows professionals to easily and quickly provide hearing aid adjustments without the need for a face-to-face meeting. This course will focus on how to use Hearing Care Anywhere to serve individuals with health, mobility or travel challenges and will outline the many benefits remote programming provides to both patients and professionals.

This course will introduce the new ReSound ENZO Q super power hearing aids, which provide the power you need for more severe hearing losses along with the benefits of the new ReSound chip. We will also be discussing how ReSound ENZO Q is supported by the Smart Hearing Alliance for bimodal fittings with Cochlear products.

This course is designed for Audiologists who treat hearing loss in children. The course will provide information on pediatric candidacy for cochlear implants, including Cochlear’s new FDA approval which allows implantation in children as young as nine months of age.
