Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) are comprised of Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) and Functional Motor Disorders, with the Functional Gait Disorders (FGD) and PPPD being the most relevant to audiology vestibular clinics. This course provides information and resources to help providers identify these patients and better manage their case.

This course covers the history and implementation of telehealth and teleaudiology, particularly focusing on synchronous teleaudiology in the VA system, including its use in Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) for evaluations and fittings. It delves into VA's adoption of Teleaudiology technologies like VA Video Connect (VVC), remote programming, Automated Method for Testing Auditory Sensitivity (AMTAS), and Accessing Telehealth through Local Area Stations (ATLAS), alongside strategies for effectively managing a virtual workforce and clinical flow.

This course will explore the VA’s implementation of TeleAudiology technologies such as VA Video Connect, remote programming, AMTAS, and ATLAS. Case studies will be utilized to highlight examples of how to utilize these emerging technologies.

This course discusses the history of telehealth and teleaudiology and synchronous teleaudiology in the VA system as it is used in CVT for evaluations and fittings.

This course will begin with a discussion about how listening effort and affective processing may fit into the Cognitive Behavioral Model of Tinnitus Distress. The course will end with some clinical suggestions for verifying tinnitus sound generators, which can be used to help reduce tinnitus distress.

This course introduces audiologists to the concepts of Whole Health – an evidence-based, multi-disciplinary, personalized, Veteran-driven approach that empowers and equips Veterans to take charge of their health and well-being, live life to the fullest, and participate in their health decisions. The application to hearing loss/tinnitus/balance is discussed.

Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) is scarcely offered by audiologists but can be a powerful tool when implemented. This course aims to share the principles and format of a VRT program and educate the clinician in establishing multidisciplinary healthcare teams to best serve the dizzy patient.

This course highlights some of the new tools and apps that are available for aural rehabilitation (AR). It will specifically explore how we have incorporated them into our cochlear implant (CI) program in a VA setting.

This course explains the importance of audiological care for inpatient populations and provides specific instruction regarding how to implement an inpatient audiology program. This course is presented in partnership with the Association of VA Audiologists (AVAA).

This course features selected webinars from the series held in partnership with The Association of VA Audiologists (AVAA). Highlights include expansion of the telehealth program, aural rehabilitation and counseling, interprofessional collaboration, and how to implement an inpatient audiology program.
