The text addresses the applicability of a software-based fitting assistant (Connexx Hearing Profile) in the daily fitting routine and outlines the benefits for the hearing care professional as well as the patient. The results of a multinational field study including the view of the hearing care professionals and their patients are reflected and discussed.

- After this course learners will be able to explain the importance of patient-specific factors besides pure-tone audiometric thresholds for a hearing aid fitting and name factors that should be considered.
- After this course learners will be able to explain how the software-based fitting assistant (Connexx Hearing Profile) gathers information on the hearing characteristics and proposes an optimized first fit configuration for each patient.
- After this course learners will be able to describe how Connexx Hearing Profile supports the HCP to achieve better fittings for his patients to determine groups of HCPs and patients that will benefit in particular.
Rosa-Linde Fischer, PhD
Rosa-Linde Fischer is a scientific audiologist at Sivantos GmbH. She specializes in research and optimization of hearing aid algorithms and gain prescriptions. She received her PhD in Psychoacoustics from the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. Prior to joining Sivantos in 2011, Dr. Fischer worked as a clinical audiologist.

Maren Schuelke has supported the R&D Audiology department of Sivantos GmbH since 2017 with the design and conduction of clinical trials as well as data analysis and scientific publications. She received her B. Sc. in Molecular Medicine from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and is currently enrolled for the M. Sc. in Cell and Molecular Biology.

Ronny Hannemann is a scientific audiologist at Sivantos GmbH since 2009. He specializes in research and optimization of hearing aid algorithms and gain prescriptions. He received his PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Konstanz, Germany.

She has a diploma in engineering and a PhD in computational modelling of auditory processes.
